Fashion Designer Website Re-Design

Mission

Joyce Huang is a fashion designer based in Toronto Ontario Canada, she'd like to have a little website of her own that contains a brief introduction of her business with a little online gallery showcasing her fashion design collections. She favors design style that aligns with the principle of simple and elegance design concept. For this reason, she has specifically asked not to put on too much decorative elements around her website, including her own portrait photo.

A static and non-responsive website had been designed and set up for her by my friend, a graphic designer who is specialized in 2D print design and was having challenges to create a website that is responsive to different mobile devices.

I volunteered to convert her static website into a responsive one by following her original design style as much as possible.

What I Have Accomplished

A fully responsive website has been re-designed and developed to enhance the user experience. Ensure there is no image of text presented in the website, the colour contrast level between background colour and foreground text is sufficient and compliant with AODA/WCAG 2.0 standards. A few CSS text animations were also implemented to create more dynamic feel to the website.

The original static website created by the print graphic designer that full of images of text is in fact, a major violation to AODA/WCAG Level AAA.
The content of website became tiny and very low in readability on the mobile device due to it's non-responsive nature.

The new version of the website I have re-designed and developed. All of the images have been re-created and all the text have been re-typed into the paragraphs of the web page.

The mobile first design approach helps the content of the website remain crispy clear when it is being displayed on a mobile device.
